The Doña Ana Arts Council’s 41st Annual Renaissance ArtsFaire, featuring over 150 artists’ booths, is now accepting artist vendor applications. This Faire is recognized as one of the finest of its kind in the Southwest. The event is widely promoted throughout the region in print, radio, television and direct mailings. Attendance is 25,000 to 30,000 visitors each year. Held at Young Park, the lake, towering trees and rolling lawns provide an idyllic setting for the Faire. The Dona Ana Arts Council is proud to present our annual Career Art Path program (CAP) for middle school students interested in the arts. Students presently in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades are invited to explore careers in exciting fields such as costume design, architectural design, ceramics, painting, digital photography. Students will also be able to go on exciting field trips to local galleries, museums, and businesses for hands on learning experiences. April 2, 2012 – Driftwood Productions will hold auditions for the musical comedy NUNSET BOULEVARD, by Dan Goggin, on Sunday and Monday, April 15 & 16, from 7 – 9pm. Auditions will be held on stage at the Rio Grande Theatre. Actors will do cold reads from the script and must come prepared to sing one song, but must provide either a CD or a musical accompanist or must sing a-cappella.
